So big news!

The first part of this is unfortunately not the best, and no one likes bad news, but here is goes. Mark Sykes, who has been Hot Young Writers bass player since day one has decided to call it a day. Mark wants to focus his energy on being more awesome in many other parts of his life, and we are behind him on that!  Mark is an amazing friend, great musician and all around rad dude, so we’re sorry to see him go, but we’re glad to see him doing what makes him happiest!

That being said, we would also like to make another announcement. Taking Mark’s place as four stringer in HYW will be, drum roll please.... Donny “Swano” Swanson! Donny is an incredibly talented musician being able to pick up almost any instrument and play it with ease, and has been drumming in ...Of North America for the past couple years. He is also a great song writer and talented bassist, so we are super excited to have him on board!! Donny is already very comfortable with the majority of the HYW catalogue, so we hope to have some show news very soon, and you can all come out and see what all the fuss is about! Honestly, hes like a fuzzy little Les Claypool!

So thanx again to Mark for all the amazing hard work and dedication he has put into this band over the past year and a bit, and excited to welcome Donny to the Hot Young Writers family! 2012, here we come!
